This break has inform me on everything there is to know about college. The College Tours gave me information on the requirements and benefits of going to college. College isn't just another four years of college it more it is the way that you will recognize in your line of work. College is something that is there to help you find yourself. We was able to see different fraternities and their true creed. However, out of all learning we had a lot of fun thanks to Mr. Reese he was the life of the trip. Also shout-out to all the chaps that joined us to make the trip turn out how it did . I had a great time shout-out to 5 Star Youth Alliance. Thanks Mr.ReeseChristopher Burkesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2285007672368505468.post-10667430896895244552011-12-29T12:03:02.374-08:002011-12-29T12:03:02.374-08:00I'm glad you enjoyed working with the horses. ...I'm glad you enjoyed working with the horses. You did a good job cleaning, grooming & running the horses in the round pen. Maybe we can incorporate math by calculating the amount of food each horse eats and the amount of waste generated each day. Did you know that people purchase parts of the huge pile of manure you created? Find out how much Home Depot or Lowe's charges for packaged poop. Record the weight and calculate how much money you can earn with fresh manure.Maronda Hastiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08085856009074533938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2285007672368505468.post-85285024677258496792011-12-29T11:42:16.122-08:002011-12-29T11:42:16.122-08:00Going to the horse stables was a very great experi...Going to the horse stables was a very great experience! Me and other members of the travel club groomed horses. We also had an oppurtunity to clean 8 stalls. You may be saying to yourself ewww. Despite of the smell it is a great hobby to do when you would like to learn about nature, different animals, and their environment. How can this activity become a fieldtrip related to math?Christopher Burkesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2285007672368505468.post-12423399640401597262011-12-28T15:10:32.120-08:002011-12-28T15:10:32.120-08:00I see much more than math in the experience at the...I see much more than math in the experience at the homeless shelter. Students can spend the day organizing the clothes by separating them according to gender, size, and age. They can match items and place them in bags to distribute them. They can update the filing system for customer needs. They can keep a journal of conversations with the children and compare notes with others. Allow them to come up with solutions to the problems they see. Give them a microphone and utilize current technology.Maronda Hastiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08085856009074533938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2285007672368505468.post-9061325264842358162011-12-28T14:56:15.517-08:002011-12-28T14:56:15.517-08:00Today I visited a homeless shelter with the McNair...Today I visited a homeless shelter with the McNair Travel Club.I witnessed the nasty way the workers treat the less fortunate and was very disappointed with what I saw. How can I incorporate math into this experience?Jeffnoreply@blogger.com
